D. Henry Fenton is a singer-songwriter originally from Sydney, Australia - now based in the US and released three albums to date.
His 13 track debut, “Autumn Sweet”, was recorded in North Carolina by Mitch Easter (REM) at The Fidelitorium in Kernersville, after scoring an indie record deal from a memorable live performance at SXSW in Austin TX.
“Fenton is one of the most original talents to emerge from this country” - SYDNEY MORNING HERALD
“Sydney-sider shifts stateside and cuts pop-rock winner” - ROLLING STONE (3.5 stars)
The second album, “Turnin'” (released 2012), was recorded with English engineer/producer, Steve Holyroyd (Counting Crows/Tom Petty) at Rogers Boat - Jorgen Carlsson's (Gov't Mule) LA studio. Fenton met Carlsson and Holyroyd when he first moved to Los Angeles, and they suggested he record there. The title track received US college radio airplay - a first for Fenton - as well as continued support in Australia.
The third album, “Twice I Fell Down Once”, released in 2017 saw a change in production style, using minimal overdubs and utilizing his Los Angeles live band, The Elizabethans, featuring drummer, Dave Krusen (Pearl Jam/Candle Box) and bass player, Mary Beth Kedzior (Kara Grainer/Jaime Wyatt).
The album was recorded by blues artist and virtuoso harmonica player, Mitch Grainer, at his Hummingbird Studios in Los Angeles. The tritle was something Fenton read that Woodie Guthrie's daughter, Cathy, who died at 4 years of age, said to her father one day - Fenton was quite taken with it.

Fenton's other releases are the EP of Howlin' Wolf covers, “Howlin' Back”, and singles, “The Loneliest Boy In The World” and “Ruby (Days Gone By)”. The latter is an upper mid tempo Americana/folk-pop song about the difficulties of gaining and maintaining visiting rights for a parent to see their child. “It's a song I felt I had to write”, explains Fenton. “There's always two sides to every story and somewhere in the middle is where we find the truth, the sadness and then the healing”. Renowned newspaper, The Guardian, chose it as one of the Top 20 songs coming out of Australia in January 2022.
“A voice that has shades of Ryan Adams and Roy Orbison in it's yearning magic” - THE GUARDIAN
2026 sees Fenton's return with the new single, “Till You Find Your Way Back Home”, and his forthcoming album, “Elvis Americano", due for release mid year.
